This brand new build for a young family provided clean lines and a blank canvas, and a brief that asked me to do a few things at once. The clients wanted somewhere they could entertain with ease, but alsofelt genuinely comfortable the rest of the time.
A home that looked considered, but never precious. And within it, pockets of calm - places to properly switch off. The styling palette is warm, layered and grounded in natural materials. Linen, rattan, stone, raw ceramics and oak run throughout, giving the home a cohesion that feels intuitive rather than studied. Earthy tones anchor each space without weighing them down, while carefully chosen artworks introduce moments of depth.
The living and dining areas are designed for people: relaxed enough for a weeknight, generous enough for a dinner party.
The bedroom is softer: linen layered in sage and warm stone, and light filtered through sheers. It is a room that asks nothing of you but to relax.
In the sitting area a pair of storm cloud paintings give the space its character. It's a small pocket of the home with enough presence to feel like a proper retreat.
It is a home that works for the way this family actually lives. It is calm, comfortable and beautiful, but most importantly, it feels this way without trying too hard.
